Our Story
At The Daily Knead, bread is more than just food—it's a tradition, a craft, and a way of bringing people together.
As a homeschooling family, we spend a lot of time learning, creating, and sharing meals together. Along the way, we developed a deep appreciation for the connection between food, nutrition, and overall well-being. We believe that what we put on our tables matters, and that some of life's best moments happen in the kitchen.
What started as a passion for baking and a curiosity about traditional methods quickly grew into something much more. After discovering the incredible flavor, texture, and nutritional benefits of freshly milled grains and naturally fermented sourdough, we knew there was no going back to store-bought bread.
We fell in love with the process. The simple act of milling wheat berries into fresh flour, nurturing a sourdough starter, and transforming a handful of real ingredients into something wholesome and nourishing became part of our daily routine.
What began as baking for our own family soon turned into a desire to share these breads and baked goods with others who appreciate real ingredients, traditional methods, and homemade quality.
Today, every loaf we bake is made with the same commitment to quality and craftsmanship that inspired us from the beginning.
Freshly Milled. Naturally Fermented. Baked with Real Ingredients.
We believe great bread starts with great ingredients.
That's why we mill our flour fresh, use traditional fermentation methods, and focus on simple, recognizable ingredients. No shortcuts. No unnecessary additives. Just honest baking rooted in time-honored techniques.
Freshly milled flour brings out the natural flavor of the grain while preserving the nutrients and character often lost in commercially processed flour. Combined with slow fermentation, the result is bread with exceptional taste, texture, and depth of flavor.
For our family, baking isn't just about creating something delicious—it's about nourishing the people we love with foods made from ingredients we can recognize and trust.
